hey guys i just bought these 2 12 Infinity and idk what to use to power em http://manuals.harman.com/INF/CAR/Owner's Manual/Perfect VQ OM FINAL (Revised 12-2-02).pdf this is a link to them..scroll all the way to the bottom and my specs are for the DVQ all the way to the right..idk if id need a 1ohm amp if i do this is what i was gonna get Hifonics BXi 1606D Amp: Mono thanx for the help.
well you could power them at 1ohm,but you dont have to. you can do 4ohms, 1 ohm,or 16ohms. but for maximum power 1ohm will do it. are you going for max power/bass? cause 275 per sub should do fine.
well with that amp it can do 1600 rms so thats bout 800per sub which i thought was good..since rms on sub is 400-1600 max
i dont know what 800 watts rms will do to a sub that is rated for 400 rms. even though it has a 1600 watt peak.thats most likely for very short periods. how about an 800 watt amp or 1000 watts?500 each souldnt kill them.as long as you dont go around with the bass all the way up ALL the time. also dont forget at 1 ohm an amp will get hot quicker than one playing at 4 ohms.or just buy some fans too.
my sub is rated at 450 rms and i feed it 350 rms at moderate levels.way less at normal levels, and it slams BTW do you have a box planned out for these subs.because in the right box a sub will git on it with only a couple hundred watts. my one 10 in the right box beat out some kid with 2 12's.me=136.6db@350 watts kicker built box.kid=132.?db@ 600watts.prefab box.
ya i have a vented box thats goin in my car--if u dont mind can u show me some amps thats enough to support each sub
but if any thing i was thinking about this amp-getting 2 of them one for each sub and runinning them at 4-2 ohms each Car Audio wholesale distributor Alpine Pioneer Kicker Clarion Hifonics Kenwood Boss - Ikesound.com - Hifonics TXI-7506, 1x325@4ohms,1x500@2ohms,1x750@1ohm

Maybe this... 900 watts @ 1ohm Kenwood KAC-9152D - Kenwood 1800W Mono amplifier That would leave 100 extra watts if you use power your subs will take.
That was sarcasm lol because I don't know what's old school about it... One sub that kills multiple subs.
