i need some help with my subwoofer box options. should i go with a ported box or a sealed box. I will be using a JL 10 w3./ i will be running a JL 250/1 amp for it. it will be in the back of a yukon xl. i want the sub to compliment the components and no be over powering. i have a sealed box and i also have a bazooka tube that the JL will fit in. which will sound better with the volume of the truck and clarity of sound?
I have a 10 inch Bazooka with a Kicker cvr sub, that thing really wangs for a 10 inch sub. But I have a car where the subs are sealed in the trunk so you will have a totally different sound with it being inside. The tube will be louder than the sealed box but as for sound quality, well you will have to listen to both of them. Id try the tube first and listen for like a week then change it to the sealed box. It would only take about 10 minutes to switch it out. Only you can decide which you like better. Of course the problem with that is 1 ten incher will have limited excursion and bass. I ended up throwing my tube in the garage and put my 12s back in.
