Okay i just recently bought a Viper 791VX with remote start...i have done a few allarms before but never a remote start system. This is all going into a 2000 Chevy Silverado A/T Now for the questions.... I've read a few things on the factory GM vehicle anti-theft systems (VATS) and how you have to bypass it. How do you do this? The allarm system also came with (2) window control modules. I want to be able to roll my windows down before i get into my truck (i live in california) during summer. On the unit itself it has these wires: Pink-to accessory item Green-Left motor White-Left switch Orange-500ma Activaticn Black-Ground Red-Constant Blue-Right motor Brown-Righ switch It says to cut the wire for the right motor and switch, do i need to do this for both the right and left windows? Also what do i hook up the pink and orange wires to? I'm sure the orange probably needs to be hooked up to an accessory output off the brain of the allarm...or no? Also do i need to use both the window control modules or just the one since it has outputs for the right and left side windows/switches? I know there's more questions but i'll start with these....thanks in advance!
You need a GM passlock bypass. http://cgi.ebay.com/GM-Remote-Start-Bypass-Module-Passlock-1-2-DEI-555LW_W0QQitemZ260374491584QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item260374491584&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50 Im not sure about the window modules. Never installed them before.
