I want to get some subs but im not sure what kind to get...I have a sealed enclosure with 1 cu for each sub. I listen to hip hop most of the time. I have a Kenwood KAC 7202 amp. Any suggestions would be appreciated...Thanks.
Well looks like you have around 460 watts rms at 4 ohms bridged. I'd get a couple of these...would make the most outta your wattage and don't cost too much...very high sensitivity rating so you'll get more bass than with other woofers http://www.cardomain.com/item/MTXT451244
Oh i forgot to add that im looking for 10's.... Ill look into those MTX but in tens thanks aznboi...I was looking into Infinitys or JL Audio's....What do you think..AZN
Infinities are great woofers...I like em...both the references and the perfects JL...awesome also...but a bit pricey... Well what is your budget?? Check these out...Elemental Designs 11K.v http://www.edesignaudio.com/edv2/product_info.php?cPath=21&products_id=30 Or...my favorite 10 inch sub of all time that is not overly expensive...the Boston Acoustics G2 10 inch....sweet ass sub http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=2545 Friend of mine has them on only 360 watts rms...loud and clear...I would get some myself but I'm keeping it real with my JL 15 W4... Also...why 10s?? What kinda available space for a sub enclosure do you have?
i totaly recomend the infinity kappa's or a JL w3v3. The JL is better, but also more expensive. I've had 2 12inch references, 2 12inch Kappa perfect 12.1DVQ's and now I'm running 2 W3v3's. All of them are GREAT subs, You won't be unhappy with any of them. but again. jl hits a tad harder.
yes...he has a kenwood pushing 460 watts rms...dub tres's wouldn't be moving much...they aren't that efficient either.
Alright im leaning toward the kappas, i only have 5 inches of depth to mess with and the 104.7w and 102.7w would fit....now another question does the whole system (subs and amp) need to be wired at the same ohms right??? sorry if its a dumb question.
Um...get dual 4 ohm coils...wire each in parallel to a channel...thus...2 ohms stereo...same output as bridging it 4 ohms...
Ok what about Diamond audio.?? Does anyone know where i can get spacers for my box I want to add about an inch to the depth...
make your own spacers with mdf...I like diamond audio also...all of their subs are good woofers...like their amps more though
Diamond audio is what black people get. I'm not racist. I just work in a shop, so that's a fact. I don't really think they're that responsive. Go with kappas, 12.1 DVQ - i have one 12 inch if you want it.
LOL....I need a 10, actually two of them..If you know somewhere that i can get a pair of 102.7w for a decent price...let me know
