hey guys i'm new here i am currently looking for a system to put in my 1997 240SX. i have a bunch of room in the trunk cause i gutted it and i am trying to find a system that will satisfy my liking. i'm into mostly hip hop and a lot of rock and some techno and i dont have any spending limit but am looking to also save some money. so please any advice would be more than helpful. thanks
everyone always has a spending limit! are you looking for just subs and amp, or a head unit, component systems, seperate amplifiers for your component systems? any preferences to 10s, 12s, or 15s?
im looking for subs that hit good but also have good sq? any suggestions i was looking at rockford fosgate and kicker are the any good?
im looking on buying 2 12's and pretty much any subs that have over 1000 watts power and a good amp to go with it as well my friend has a ported box and a alpine head unit for me already just looking for the best of the best
I own kickers, and they get super loud, but don't perform well with rock and alternative, im not impressed at all with their sq, although im aware that kicker has won awards for sq, but ive never gotten it or heard it. Memphis, Polk, Jl Audio, Boston Acoustics, Image Dynamics, and i had good results out of infinity. those are all well reputable brands and produce good clean bass that will get loud and sound good doing it. Just because you put 1000 watts into subs doesn't mean they will get louder. Different subs handle different levels of power. For example, the higher end kicker subs are very power hungry, but infinity doesn't require as much power to perform well. As far as amps, look into Cadence, Clarion, Planet Audio, Sundown Audio, and even try Autotek (which i own one of).
hmm...JBL comes to mind as do RE subs. ive heard both in SQ systems. as far as power . the jbl setup had jbl amps and the re's has us amps for power. each sub on around 1k each. Image dynamics are good too. JL, infinity, elemental designs and the list goes on and on. its hard to pick just one good sub amp combo. look for a sub that will work in the space you have available, and an amp/s that will fit in the space you have.
RE subs... I'd love to get some RE BTL's if i had the money... Sundown amps and RE subs would be great if you could afford it..
