A car audio guy tried to talk me into buying 2 Phoenix Gold 10" rsd subwoofers today. Has anyone used these speakers?? Can anyone give me any advice about these speakers?? Would i be better off getting Alpine type S subs instead??

any sub can sound good to great in the proper enclosure.

ive been told i cant get deep bass from 8 inch subs. ive been proving that wrong for a while now.

have you been on their web site yet?

well the specs on the phoenix golds would match up with my amp fairly good but so do the alpines. I was told both were good but i have never heard anything about Phoenix Golds until today. I dont want to waste my money on subs that aint worth it:)

the rsd's are good subs too.

PG has been around for over 20 years. altho they have been bought and sold a few times the newer rsd's are suppose to be good.

the new new stuff is going to be good stuff too. ive seen them at SBN this week end.

the guy told me they were good subs and that they were similar in price to the alpines. Well i will try the PG's out and see how they are. I know that name brands dont necessarily matter and size dont either. Its all about the setup right?

    correct.

i keep getting blown away by the $30 hifonics subs. cheap but in the right box will blow you away.

if my next vehicle is a SUV I am doing a wall with 8 of those hifi's on an AP 3K. But ya back on topic. I heard that the RSD stuff is supposed to be good.

good to hear you like the PG's... give them a few weeks, they'll sound even better once you've broken them in
