I have a Rockford Fosgate P500-2 amp and a 12" Alpine Type-R Sub. I believe I know how to set the gain, but I'm not really sure what to use for the frequency. Also, my head unit has adjustable settings for HPF LPF etc, and i'm not sure if I really need to touch any of that. any help is appreciated!
for the sub, you should be using a LPF. you can set it between 80- 120hz, no bass boost. whatever sounds best in your application. if the front speakers have an amp as well then you should be setting those on a HPF also set to between 80-120hz so the transition from your lows and mids will be smooth. how did you set your gain?
