   I have this 18 sub system that I am running off of batteries but I need the system to be able to hook up to a generator so I can run it for an extended period... It can not run off of the engines power because it is 24 volts...
   
   Please let me know if you have any idea's...

   I have 8 amps total... I was thinking of maybe hooking up a battery charger to the batteries and at least this would make the batteries drain slower...?

   A battery charger would not help at all with that many amps.
   
   I would suggest multiple high current power supplies.
