I never had subs before but I bought two new never used 12inch SoloBaricsL7's from my friend for really cheap. I have a 2006 extended cab silverado and found one box online that would fit these subs. This is a two-chamber sealed box with .92 cu.ft. of air space per chamber... is this going to be enough for good sound? I listen to lots of metal and I am looking for deeper heavier lows... not really looking to blast them crazily. but I also need recommendations on a good quality amp that will push these but not crazy expensive. Any help for me would be awesome and greatily appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome!!! For the L7 12", their minimum requirements for a sealed box is .88 cu.ft. to a max of 2.0 cu.ft. per sub. So if you are going with sealed then you should be fine. I don't know if you are really going to get good lows with it but It should be ok.

Is your L7's DVC (dual voice coil) 2ohm or 4ohm?

What's your budget for an amp?
What kind of speakers do you have up front? Do you have an amp for them?
Do you have an aftermarket stereo?

They are 4 ohm... My amp budget is under $300. I have a Pioneer head unit. The speakers are factory with no amp.

with 2 L7's bumpin in the back you're going to need to upgrade those factory speakers up front and put an an amp to them. we can do all of that for about 300, i hope. I have to take a look at some prices online though.

What I would suggest for speakers up front would either be some phoenix gold RSD component speakers. They are only $79 and they are supposed to be some real good speakers for the price.

    For the sub amp:

    amp for the component speakers:

that's roughly $330 shipped but you'll still have to buy wires, distribution block, RCA's and make a box. These are just suggestions.
