Hello all.... thanks for even reading, to start off... anyways, I'm looking to build a box to MAXIMIZE the amount of sound i can get out of my (2)Type-R 12" Dual 4 ohm Voice Coils. I currently have a custom built sealed box my brother gave to me (the only reason i have this is bcuz i needed somethin to put them in... its better than nothing, amirite?) the box is ****tarded huge and takes up almost my whole trunk...( I have a BIG ASS TRUNK...) anyway, i am lookin to build it and need to know LOTS of details on the build... (wood thickness, length, width, height, vent width, vent length, etc.) The car: 95 Lincoln Towncar, so sizeof the box really isnt an issue. Now, remember I want to MAXIMIZE the potential of the speakers so, if possible i would like to tune it to the best possible combination of SQ vs SPL. if necessary, SPL is more optimal to me... But, anyway, I would like the design of the box to be the best possible in order to maximize the potential... I'm cutting NO corners here guys, so please do your best... any and all help, GREATLY appreciated! thanx again, in advance... Also, what would be the BEST amp for this setup (2 Dual-4-ohm type -r 12's...ported box...95 lincoln towncar...alpine head unit etc...) I mean, I would like to know the best mid/ high class amp for these subs, not the really high end stuff like the top-dollar alpine's / rockfords/ kickers or any of that.. THANX!
ranger svo designed me this box a while ago but i never got it built. but i did save it just in case i wanted to... 14h x 22d x 38w with two separate ports being 12-1/2 inches tall by 2 inches wide and 18 inches long thats tuned to 38hz, im not sure if you want to tune it lower.
Man KVO, ur just all over the place...lol thanks for all the answers... this should really be what im lookin for, although if u could help me out a little more, i'd like to tune it down to about 32-33 hz... how ?
