Im running two of the 12" sony xplodes ( single 4 ohm 6 layer voice coil) in a ported box, they are 1300 max and around 400 rms and i wanted to know how much power amp i need to push these at thier full potential, my best bet is a mono amp right? i would liek to stay in the 200-300 dollar range 400 max thanks for help

i second the JBL. they make good stuff and pretty clean power too. I have said this before but upgrade your electrical. I found out the hard way and blew my alt. I got a kinetiks battery (cap killer) and a yellow top under the hood. It holds a good amount of juice for when my truck is off. Dont push it too hard when your ride is on otherwise you may have to plan a funeral for your alternator
I can triple the JBL recommendation. I had a bad experience with JBL back when best buy carried them (gt series?), but the newer 2004+ GTO and power and GTi aresome of the best amps I have ever heard.
