I have a 12" kicker L5 w/ a kicker vented box inside my Ranger extra cab. It takes up too much room in my truck, even after i removed one of the back folding seats. Ive pretty much blown the sub because my amp is a little too powerful, a MTX jh600 - 600w rms @ 2 ohms. I want to get a new sub and box, and sticking to a single 12" seems like the best idea because I like a lot of bass, and 2 10's would take up too much room. Im not sure if i would like shallow mount subs, and I need a sub that can handle more than 600w rms. A sealed box would be better than vented because I need more room inside my truck. So the question is what 12" subs would be the loudest in a sealed box and how small can i go with a box? Any other opinions for a setup in my truck are welcome. Some subs Ive thought about getting: JL 13w6, Alpine type R/type X, Polk sr124
I have the type r's. They r beasts. If u can find last yrs model u can save $$$. I have seen one recently at Best Buy on clearance for $75. Regular price on that 12 is $229. RMS is 500-750. And the bass will blow u away. They r made of kevlar (can u say bullet proof vest, lol). Needless to say I like mine.
dont waste ur money on r types... id suggest re audio sex 12 ... will be super clean and loud and really hit the low notes... i sell them by the way.. along with alot of other brands
