my first box, and im thinking big

okay so this is my first box, I'm not sure on the particulars just yet..

i have 2 Apline e-10s

the recommended ported box size is 1.75 cu ft. if i exceed that size is it a good or bad thing? it would be cool if i the box could be 48" wide ..

i want to have one box, with a chamber on each side, and slot ports that come out the middle to form into one huge port at the exit.

i'm also thinking that i want to pull the subs forward an inch or two and fibreglass the entire front of the box.

whats everyone think so far?

hi again, so now im wondering if i will get better performace if i put the 2 subs in one enclosure, and have one huge slot port out one end, like what thumper builds in his sticky thread.

if i do this, do i just have to double the suggested box volume for the subs?

i am open to all suggestions!
