So when i'm listening to my radio or cd or whatever everythings going fine until i turn the volume past a certain point like 13 or 15 then the headunit, speakers, subs and amp all turn off. What will fix this? Do i need a capicitor, or bigger alternator, or new battery? I have no idea hopeful you guys can help. Thanx
Prolly means you have a bad voltage dropping issue...measure the voltage at the amp when the system shuts down What is your full setup down to the wire. A capacitor is a waste of money...for the money I'd rather at another battery. FIRST UPGRADE YOUR BIG THREE....find it here....without it you can't get far http://www.caraudiotalk.com/audio-forum/showthread.php?t=3987 If upgrading the big three doesn't help than you NEED a bigger alternator.
Before the big 3 IMO, lower the gains on your headunit to your speakers, I had that same issue and I just adjusted me Highs/Mids/Lows through my h/u and problem solved.
i had that problem with an old system i set up and it happened to be my ground for the HU wasnt hooked up right and it would just shut off at a certain volume llevel then restart a few seconds later.
