well guys im asking for quite a bit of help here, id like to build a ported box for my mtx 4000 12in sub, i got it about 4yrs ago. i googled the sub but had no luck. what im looking for is the cubic feet for the box, how big is it suposed to be? also the size of the port, wow im pretty much asking someone to do everything but build it. well any help would be awsome.

i'm sure he means a 4 inch round port 6 inches long but that would make it tuned around 45Hz which is too high

I'd say to start build a 2.2 cu ft box tuned to 40 hz with a 4 inch round port that is about 7 inch long port

well i built a 1.75 box with a 4x4 port 6 in long.(not round). sounds good on low notes but kinda sucks or (flutters) on higher notes. can someone explaine?

well your box is tuned around 46 Hz

    pretty high for daily driving

Try turning the gain down and see how it sounds...could be the amp clipping or port noise

well..... the thing is the box is in my home. and i do understand its a car woofer, but it sure did have the ladies shaking there asses at my hollowing party. i shouldnt have waited to the last minet to ask for help, but i built it that saturday morning! so at low volumes it sound good even at high volumes low notes sounds good just those high notes, sounds like a stock 6.5 crapy mid woofer.
