does it make a big difference with a subwoofer 240 oz magnets or 120 oz magnet.
each 12 inch subs, with 600-700 rms watss and 1200-1400 wats peak.

i know numbers mean something but does the magnet size make it too.

    thanks

Magnet size has NOTHING to do with a drivers quality or how well it performs. It does however dictate some of the parameters for the speaker. But stil, this in reality means nothing to the average consumer. Basically dont worry about magnet size!

I use to think and was a firm believer in bigger is better in magnets. Reality is size don't count, with today;s magnet technology. Stroitum 150 oz magnet is = to a ceramic 50 oz magnet..:D

what looks good on paper doesnt always perform in the real world. numbers really only mean so much.

Neodymium magnets are like what 1/10 the size of regular strontium ferrite magnets but the same strength

It is my firm belief that magnet strength IS a very important factor, but size or weight is not.

Less magnet is required for a desired result in a ported enclosure, and more for the same result in a sealed enclosure, as is power.:p

and no, I have no proof - just personal experience
