ive had a set of 6.5 (2-way) MA Audio speakers for about a year or so now. i got them real cheap from a guy i worked with (brand new). i had never heard of MA before, but ted (the guy) told me that they were fairly new on the scene, but decent speakers. i also have a separate set of tweeters that have been faithful as well. well, since then, i have seen more from MA... i saw MA subs used on 'unique whips', or one of those cusom build shows. so i guess they are getting to be more reputable. and the price on them is pretty good. so has anyone else used any MA Audio products?? if so, or you know someone that has, id like to hear about your experience. good or bad. EDIT: the only problem ive had with the 2-ways is that the speaker wire input came loose. i took it out and tightened the screw down and put a dab of gorilla glue on it.... has worked fine since then. i had to fix it about 6 months ago.
I have an MA Audio HK150XC sub...one line below the XL line I think it sounds pretty good in my custom box.
i have 4 ma audio amps, with no problem for 4 years. 2 mk2000d mono amps and one 2ch amp and a one 4ch amp. you can see the install at www.xlmotorsports.net on the lincoln page. one sub per sub amp. 3 batteries.
hey thanks for the replies. the 6.5's i have sound pretty good. and they have the swivel tweeter too!! and the seperate tweeters sound good too. i have them in my g/f's neon. the neons have the place in the dash for 1" or so factory tweeters (if you wanna call them that). so it has decent highs for running from a head unit. i was thinking about getting a matching set of 6x9's to replace the panasonics that are in there now. but i wanted to hear some other opinions and experiences with ma before i get in too deep. but it sounds like they do good, so ill consider it. i didnt know they have been out 17+ years. its odd that they arent more widely known.
i'm not sure that they were even popular then. so you say the tweeters sound nice.cause i've been looking for a set for my front sail panels.saw some on line for 20 or so. or if any one knows were i can get a good set of tweets for not too much shoot me a link.they have to have an angle mount.i dont want to drill really big holes in the doors.swivel is also a plus.try to keep them under 60 or so. the local shops around me dont have any hooked up to listen to.i like polk and infinity.thats what i have.i know someone here knows of an online store with really good deals.
nope. nothing there will fit my aplication. thanks though i placed a bid on a set of powerbass 6.5 comps for 13 bucks.i have 1day16 hrs to go.
