Now ive been googling about what to set my amp to and i always seem to get different answers so id thought i would post it here. Basically i have 2 12" Re Audio subwoofers in a ported box tuned to 35hz. My amp has gain, bass boost, a switch that can be set to either HPF, FLAT or LPF and 2 dials, one for the LPF and one for the HPF. Ive read that for subs if should be on LPF, but then i read if its in a ported box that you should also use the HPF which im guessing means to put it on FLAT? And then for the frequencies ive read to use the HPF as a subsonic filter and set it to whatever the box is tuned to, in this case 35hz and for the LPF, i have read to set it to about 80-100hz, but then i have read to set it to just below the highest frequency the subs can handle, for example if the subs are 20-200hz handling then set the LPF to about 180hz? Im not sure so what should i really set those switches too??

does your amp HAVE a subsonic filter? if not then just set it to lpf and set it to roughly 80hz and turn it down from there until it sounds good to you. they will taper off after 80HZ, thats where your mids should come into play or close to it.

i overlap my subs and mids. for instance my subs are set to 80HZ low pass and my mids are set to 60HZ hipass.

it would be labled SSF or something like that.
