I have (1) 12" Punch P3 2-Ohm DVC in a ported box and need help picking the right amp. It is wired for 2 ohm in the box. I had an Xtreme 800 watt mono-block pushing it. I used & abused it for 3 or 4 years so it was a good amp. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Is an Orion Cobalt any good? Is PIONEER GM-D7500M any good? Hifonics 1000D? I just ordered the Hifi1000D
you can not have a dual 2 ohm sub wired to 2 ohm. it would be either 4 or 1 ohm. a dual 4 ohm sub can be wired to 2 ohm.
ok thanks for the heads up. The guy that wired the original sub told me it was 2 ohm. I guess it would be 1 ohm now because the original speaker was 1 vc. I need to look at how I did it when i swapped the speakers. I think it was positive to negative positive to negative and then one to each on the box and eventually into the amp by way of the box plugs.
I just looked it up and see I have it 4 ohm or just some jacked up configuration. I know I only had 1 jumper but I dont remember if it positive to negative or what. Just got home and see that it is properly wired 1 ohm. Maybe thats why the amp kicked the bucket.
