    doesn't matter what sub.

    ENCLOSURE ENCLOSURE ENCLOSURE.

What box is your sub in???

    I had a JL 15W4 in a custom ported box with 300 watts...I could hit 138dbs

Why not build you a custom box...we can even help out with the dimensions and cut lists

    prefab boxes suck balls.

Is it in a prefab ported box from Best Buy??

I wanna see what AZN recommends, but I will get you started. For low and loud and a single 15, I typically like to get around 3.5 to 4 cu ft. The galant has a large trunk, so that large a box might not be a problem. Port it but......

the only problem I have with that woofer is the qts of 0.61. Thats kind of limiting, I need to know what QES is. I also need VAS but not right now.

i cant find the QES im still lookin its not in the owners manual but
    the VAS is 4.98 cu.ft.
ima keep lookin and go to the rockford forum and ask

William...somehow I knew you were gonna say that lol

The thing I hate about RF is that they don't list a lot of T/S Parameters...because they suck at it

All I could find from the RF online manual is the QTS, FS, VAS, and Xmax

But using those in WinISD...there isn't much of a difference in the response at all from a 3 cu ft tuned to 40 Hz to a 4.5 cu ft tuned to 40Hz.

Only difference was that the 4.5 cu ft box peaked a little over 1 db higher than the 3 cu ft box and peaked about 4 hz lower.

The F3's of the 3 cu ft and 4 cu ft boxes are only about 2 Hz apart

I'd do 4 cu ft tuned to 40Hz with a 15"x4" slot vent approx. 18.75 inches long.

    Ranger...how does that sound???

Take your time and build it RIGHT. You will very much appreciate it in the end.

It takes me about 10 hours to build a big box...but that is because I like to work slow and take my time and do everything right...predrill all holes...drawy out the boards on the bottom board and dry fit everything so it lines up right with minimal gaps and such. I've seen a box put together for a couple 15L7s done in about and hour...it came out horrible.

My friend who thinks he can build boxes used no screws...did not take his time and draw out every screw hole and line the holes up 3/8" from the edges and only used screws...it was one of the crappiest boxes I've ever seen and sounded horrible. When I took it apart every single screw hole split the wood and about an 1/8 of all the screws didn't even go through into the other boards...it was bad

My first box was a simple 14 inch cube for one 12 inch sub...took me about 3-4 hours. Took my time and drew out every screw hole with equal spacing...3/8" from the edge. Drilled and countersunk. Didn't use glue but came out very good in the end

Elemental Designs is mainl concentrated on sound quality...ALL of their drivers sound excellent and are great for their price. These are one of few of the manufactures that makes their subs in the USA. They build them in house in Iowa.

The subs are sq subs but can still get plenty loud.

A 13Kv.2/3 with 400 watts is a perfect combo. These subs are underrated...there are people out there putting 300 watts to some ED 6.5 inch subs
