Last year of Alpine's full frequency adjustment?

I once owned an Alpine CDA-7893 and I am so sorry that I didn't manage to swap it out when I sold the last car I had it in. A year ago I purchased a CDA-9887 and I was dismayed to discover the reduced adjustment capability for the audio frequencies. Supposedly the adjustments were supposed to return if you used the accessory tuning system...sure, you got bass and treble; whoopee. It sounds okay, but I can't get the same punch and texture that I had with my old 7893. So when was the last year that Alpine gave the full spectrum of adjustment? I'd like to buy a used one that still allows full adjustment but I'd like to get as new of one as possible.
