Hey guys. I found these and i'm gonna get them put in my truck...anyone have anything to say:huh:? i've looked upon the webverse, and i can find a whopping two reviews...one said they were great sounding the other said they were power hungry... help me out! oh! one more thing...is this amp over powered for the subs (there's two mind you) hooking up so the amp sees 2 ohms^_^ Subs (12") - http://www.koleaudio.com/products_woofers_mfw.html Amp (CPT1 3200D) - http://www.poweracoustik.com/pa2006/product_AUDIO_amp_crypt.htm
I'm sorry, i thought i responded way before. my bad. because of your advice i bought a bit bigger amp. thanks! First system btw. OH! question....coming from the words of the town's local "Expert" "Don't get a 1 ohm stable amp, it'll catch on fire because you have 4 ohm speakers, go with a 2 channel" is that bull**** or what??? i was gonna let him pick out the system, and just pay him, but after i heard that, i dropped him. I'm not good at this eltric wiring stuff, but i read up a bit, and that's a huge load of crap!!!
the amp will only "see" the impedance that the speakers show it.. if your final OHM load will be one ohm then buy a 1 ohm stable amp. if the final load will not be 1 ohm and you will not upgrade subs for more power later then you don't need a 1 ohm stable amp. just look for an amp that will put out the power your looking for at 2 ohms, or one that puts out a little more.. to compensate for impedance rise. that way you can power them to their full potential if you want.
