ok i know i just had another thread but i found a great deal from a couple friends....i can get 2 compVRs or 2 l5's...the 2 l5's would be 50$ more but thats not a problem...the compVR's can pull 2 or 4 ohms as the l5's can only pull 4...with that in mind which setup would be better? also the compVR's are rated 400RMS and the l5's are 600 with around the same sen.
so the compVR's have selectable voice coils or something? Go with whatever you have power for really. Assuming both are in the right enclosures the L5's will be a bit louder as you can put more power to them. I have heard both side by side and to me the L5 seems to move more air while I think the CompVR is a bit more accurate. Dunno if that helps that just my experience with them.
Um...Kicker won the DTS challenge using their square subs man....thats sound quality champions...And people think that the squares are just spl subs Just some info lol
all a matter of opinion , i mean what meter do you have that measures Sound Quality.. they way I hear them.. and I have heard them side by side.. to my ears the round ones sound more accurate than the square ones but i feel more air moving from the square ones. Now if you think the square ones sound better than the round ones.. go with them for sure. Car audio is all opinion based unless you are just trying to make it as loud as you can. Just the way I think of it.
Indeed...I wasn't trying to prove anything...I just always hear people say that the kicker squares are purely for spl and that they have crappy sound quality. But what sounds good is opinionated
