JVC Expands Specialists Line of TM CD Receivers

January 22, 2003 -- Las Vegas - The Mobile Entertainment Division of JVC Company of America is expanding its Arsenal series of specialty car audio CD receivers with the introduction of eight new models. Arsenal is a selection of advanced mobile audio products designed specifically for enthusiasts who devote extensive time to creating the most satisfying audio experience in their cars, trucks and vans. Designed for independent specialists who cater to a devoted clientele, each Arsenal model is crafted with a range of features that customize sound to the user's preferences. Each Arsenal model features gold-plated line outputs for optimum connectivity and a two-year warranty.
"We expect and encourage audiophiles to compare Arsenal receivers to their favorite home electronics," said Tom Caronia, Vice President, JVC Mobile Entertainment Division. "Both are designed to bring out the full range of sonics inherent in today's digital recordings."

The new JVC Arsenal line is comprised of the following units:

    KD-SH9750
The CD changer controller/tuner/CD player is part of JVC's Digifine 2.3 line. It offers motorized, slide-out aluminum faceplate, and delivers up to 200 watts of peak (50W x 4) power using a MOS-FET amp for maximum efficiency.

The KD-SH9750 offers an advanced array of digital technologies, including a custom digital signal processor (DSP) and digital 7-band iEQTM equalizer that lets the user adjust the sound to complement various genres, such as classical, hard rock, pop, jazz, R&B, reggae, dance music and country, as well as a "flat" setting and the ability to store three user-defined settings. Also, a source-specific display allows for easy, single-button operation. With the KD-SH9750, users can also find individual MP3 and WMA files quickly, thanks to a cross-key control that allows for easy navigation through digital music files and folders.
The KD-SH9750 offers the added benefit of PICT (Personalized Image Capture TechnologyTM), a proprietary JVC technology that allows consumers to capture images and full-motion video clips from their DV camcorder or digital camera or download them from the Internet, modify them using JVC's exclusive Image Converter application, then burn the file onto a CD-R/RW and upload it to the receiver for display on the unit's LCD.
JVC's proprietary HS-IIIiTM tuner identifies and reduces interference from undesired stations by as much as 30dB, thanks to the use of a narrow IF bandwidth that the user selects with the push of a button. The accuracy of switching from wide to narrow IF bandwidth is ensured by a microcomputer that monitors the noise level, ambient field strength and multipath reflections.
Included in the KD-SH9750 are two pairs of 4-volt output terminals, one subwoofer output with level/frequency control and an adjustable line input. All are gold plated to ensure optimum connectivity over years of use.
Other features include a 1-bit (24-bit resolution) digital/analog converter (DAC), CD text display that features album information when embedded on a disc, disc name registration, 24 station presets (6 AM/18 FM), a local switch for the best possible FM reception, plus all the advantages of a Digifine 2.3 receiver. Also included are a detachable control panel with hard plastic carrying case, multi-control rotary encoder, multi-function wireless control and a preferred setting mode.
The KD-SH9750 will be available April of 2003 at a Nationally Advertised Value of $459.95.

    KD-LH3150
As a JVC 3DLHTM receiver, the KD-LH3150 gives the user a remarkable 1,728 colors from which to select a background display color, JVC's exclusive PICT technology, an illuminated trim plate and a new symmetrical panel design.
Performance, however, is what sets the KD-LH3150 apart from similarly priced models. Designed with audiophiles in mind, its array of digital sound enhancing features permits easy pinpoint audio adjustments to suit every taste and auto interior. Power output is rated at 200 watts peak (50 watts x 4), and the CD section plays MP3 files embedded on any CD-R or CD-RW, with simplified file selection.
Outputs, all of which are gold plated, include two pairs of 4-volt line outputs and a subwoofer output with level/frequency control. Moreover, an adjustable line input is included for those who choose to add an external audio source such as DVD player, VCP, or MP3 player.
Additional features include disc name registration, 24 station presets (6 AM/18 FM), stereo/mono switch, volume attenuator, level meter, flip down face and a detachable control panel with hard plastic carrying case.
The KD-LH3150 will be available in April of 2003 at a Nationally Advertised Value of $399.95.

    KD-LH1150
Similar to the KD-LH3150, the new KD-LH1150 offers 200 watts peak output (50 watts x 4), two gold-plated output terminals and a 7-band iEQ for pinpoint equalization. And, as part of the 3DLH collection, users can select from 1,728 colors that make it easy to match the receiver to the car's interior.
JVC's HS-IIIi tuner ensures that only the desired station is heard, even if other signals are cluttering the frequency. The CD section includes such in-demand features as CD changer control, CD text display and disc name registration. The KD-LH1150 will play all popular CD formats, including CD-R and CD-RW. MP3s files can be enjoyed by the addition of JVC's CH-X1500 MP3/CD changer. Additional features of the KD-LH1150 include a keychain remote control, illuminated trim plate, detachable control panel with hard plastic carrying case and preferred setting mode.
The KD-LH1150 will be available in March of 2003 at a Nationally Advertised Value of $329.95.

    KD-LX333
This receiver, a popular model carried over from 2002, is highlighted by JVC's ElKameleonTM anti-theft system that automatically retracts the system's controls and switches off the LCD so the unit blends in with the dashboard or console. It offers peak power output of 200 watts (50 watts x 4), two pairs of gold-plated 4-volt line output terminals, a subwoofer output with level/frequency control and an adjustable line input. Other features include JVC's flash rotary encoder multi-control, BBE II High Definition Sound, 1-bit D/A converter, CD changer control and a card-type wireless remote control.
The KD-LX333 is currently available at a Nationally Advertised Value of $289.95.

    KD-SX9350
Combining style and performance, the KD-SX9350 packs a powerful 200 watts peak output (50 watts x 4) into a receiver that includes two pairs of 4-volt gold-plated line output terminals, subwoofer output with level control and compatibility with CD-R and CD-RW discs. MP3 files are welcome as well, whether burned onto a CD-R/RW or from an external MP3 player plugged into the radio's front MP3 input.
The multi-color display brightly illustrates station information as well as CD text, or disc information as entered by the user. JVC's HS-II tuner locks into desired frequencies for maximum reception, even when signal overlap is a potential problem. Additional features include a flip-down face, keychain remote control, and detachable control panel with carrying case.
The KD-SX9350 will be available February of 2003 at a Nationally Advertised Value of $259.95.

    KD-SX8350
JVC's new KD-SX8350 is identical to the KD-SX9350, with the exception of the ability to play MP3 files. However, MP3 collectors can still enjoy their favorite digital music files by adding the JVC CH-X1500 CD changer, or an external MP3 player via the receiver's MP3 input jack.
The KD-SX8350 will be available February of 2003 at a Nationally Advertised Value of $229.95

    KD-S7350
With 180 watts peak (45 watts x 4) power and full CD/CD-R/CD-RW compatibility, the KD-S7350 is a powerful performer, offering many of the key features that set the Arsenal line apart from the competition. Included in the feature set are a new, blue-color display, two pairs of gold-plated output terminals, rotary encoder, card-type wireless remote control, 24 station presets (6 AM/18 FM) and a detachable control panel with hard plastic carrying case.

Included in the package is a card-type wireless remote and detachable control panel with hard plastic carrying case.
The KD-S6350 will be available January of 2003 at a Nationally Advertised Value of $159.95.
