ok so i got this flip out and the pre outs do not work. im not able to buy a new deck for awhile and i have a mono block amp so i only have rca inputs on it. would a line converter (the thing that changes wires to rca's) work? i know im not going to get the same sound as rca's but id like to use my subs until i can get a new deck. any info would be great- edit: im only going to use the converter for my subs. i do not have my mids/high's amp'd they run off the deck.
its a jensen uv8, i went ahead and installed the converter and everything works now. it works way better than i thought it would, at least now i can play my system.
yes there is. with it on or off it just plays an interferance noise. you can hear a lil bass but the other noise is louder. i think there is just something wrong with the pre outs. this is why i hate buying used equipment. i checked all my wiring and with the converter i get no interference. idk...
did you check to make sure that it wasn't your RCA's that were the problem? if your gonna buy a LOC then do a quick search on the forum. I forgot what the name is but ranger recommended a very good LOC.
i did check my cables and they looked fine, and when i hooked up the loc i had no extra noise. im pretty sure its the unit. ill keep messing with it
yes i put a loc in today. i have to say it does sound pretty good. but it isnt as loud as befor, im just glad to have music again. i guess ill have to save up and just buy a new in dash tv/dvd.
