Greetings all, I recently purchased a car and it came with 5.25" Focal Utopia BE component speakers. Apparently, the previous was a heavy audiophile - I'm not too interested myself, so I'd rather swap these out for a set of Boston Acoustics and use the amp from the head unit. I looked on Focal's website and much to my amazement saw that the retail price is $4500 for these speakers - plus apparently they come with some crossblock thing. (FYI I don't see this crossblock anywhere in the car). So my question is - what are these worth on the open market? One of the tweeters has a small tear in it but it didn't seem to affect the sound at all (plus it's covered by the mesh grille). Otherwise, they're in perfect condition. FYI if anyone has an interest, PM me with a fair offer. Thanks,
why swap them out? dont you like thier sound? that is a lot of money indeed for a set of componants, im not sure if some of our members would be willing to fork out that kind of cash for some speakers. good luck tho.
you aren't going to get msrp for old speakers, esspecily with damage, but focals are top notch speakers and rarly hit the used market and are hard to come by for a reasonable price. you wouldn't have a problem selling the woofers assuming they have no dmg.
