Joe, like I said in your other post, that layout is designed well looks flawless. If you wanted ported and have the dough, just go back to whomever did it and tell them so. If they have sense they will just make you a ported box for the same location. You do not really have to many other options, other than maybe custom fiberglass when you are dealing with such large subwoofers. I just don't understand what don't you like about that setup? -Me-
i like the way it looks but not the way it sounds. it does not really hit that hard, my trunk rattles more than anthing. my buddy has some cvr kickers and it blows me way, it doesnt even come close to the power i have so i dont know what the problem is. we can even talk nor sit in his, car my is just ok it sound like some 12, so i was just going to go a different system or setup. thanks for every thing, let me know what you guy think
Those subs you have should pound nice and loud. Maybe not as hard as some, but deffinately much harder than you are describing. I would start with the easy solutions. What head unit are you running? Check the settings and make sure that everything is in order. If you are not sure, try experimenting with different settings to see if something helps. Pay special attention to turn off any filters or restrictors that you may have turned on. Second simple option would be to check the settings of your amps. Be careful tuning your amps because that is a lot of wattage you are playing with, but those subs are plenty stout so its not too much of a concern. Try your hand at adjusting your amp to see if you can produce the sound you are looking for. JL has a bunch of tutorials for tuning your amp that you should deffinately read before you start this. I am hard pressed to believe that your box is the issue. SUV's will usually be louder, the speakers in the car with you. Install looks great, what kind of car is that in Ported will be much louder, and your trunk will rattle even more. By the way, body panel and trunk lid vibration is bad. All that vibration is actually sound that is being absorbed.
