im new here so I drive a 03 mustang without the mach system some come with. i had my stock speakers powered by a pioneer deck with 2 12' rockford punch type HE in an angled box. powered by a Visonik 800W amplifier..so i was probably gettin around 400 rms on it. one sub ..the speaker wire burnt off from the terminal and the other is completley frozen..so i decided for a whole new system. The system i want to push now wouldnt mind doin 600rms for my subs. and as far as my inside speakers go i have it listed...

Note: i didnt buy these from crutchfield..i plan on ebayin my whole system. so will i need to get anything else?

as for my subs im lookin at 2 12' Jl W3v3 with a 500/1 amp in a ported box.
here are the jl specs for the subs
    http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_subs.php?series_id=25

    and for the amp http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_amps.php?amp_id=252

The deck i have right now is pretty cheap pioneer one. got it for 40 bux. i plan on gettin a duel in-dash pretty soon as well.

The reason i chose this system becuase i wanted a nice brand thats not too pricy..i hear people do put componets in the front with coaxials in the back so i decided to do it with infinity..not tryin to enter comp. usin boston or mb quarts.

    my questions:

    - Will an eq be good way to go to perfect my sound levels? what brand should i look at

    - Do u recommend this system on puttin nice clean hard hittin bass with loud highs?

    - my 2 rockford pucnhes type HE hit pretty nice in an enclosed box. so thinkin about 200 more whats rms...will it be worth it?

    - will i need a capacitor? thinkin about im probably pullin around 900W rms from the battery? i heard for every 1000 u need a cap.

    - will the Jl specs be able to fit in a ported box for 12' and beable to fit inside the tiny trunk of a coupe mustang. the angle box i have now barley fits..theres about 1/2 inch
between the box and the speaker.

    -what do u guys recommend?

I do not recomend an EQ at this time, in a well thought out and designed system, they really are not needed.

As far as 2 twelve inchers in the rear, not sure what you have for available space. One 12 incher in the RIGHT box will outperform TWO 12 inchers in the wrong box, all day everyday.

Dont waste your money on a cap, we have a sticky on this subject, pllease read it!

Overall sounds like you will have a nice set up. My only concern is the box volume with the woofers you want, This is key in getting a good sub bass response.
