Ok, tell me if i'm wrong. A jl j2 1000/1 is a 1000w a 1ohm 700 at2 and 400at 4ohm. So my JL W7 which is a 3 ohm sub with the amp would only be pushing about 500 or so. I would need a 1ohm sub to get the full 1000w. Therefore the slash v2 which is also a 1000/1 amp but is 1000 at 1.5to4ohm would push a full 1000w to my w7.

the 1000/1 and the 1000/1 v2 is pretty much the same, you'll get 1000 watts rms at 1.5-4ohms on both amps

JL has a system called R.I.P.S which stands for "regulated intelligent power supply" meaning the amp will hit full power from from 1 ohm to 4 ohms, If that amp has it your good to go.

The website says this amps output is 1000w at 1 ohm. 700w at 2 ohm, and 400w at 4ohm. I can't find anything about RIPS technology either. This is where I am confused.

yea I know the slash series has the RIPS technology. This is the J2 1000/1, and there is no mention of RIPS on the website for this series.

you'll need a 1 ohm sub like you said.
