Can a MTX JH600 mono channel amp work with 2 subs? The instructions show that you can hook up 1 or 2 subs to it and it has 4 speaker outputs. Im currently running a 12" with it and want to try out 2 10's.
The 4 speaker outs are actually only 2.They are split apart only to help with hooking up speakers. But a mono amp is only 1 channel even if there are 2 + and 2 - they are connected internally. You can run 10 subs on a mono amp if you have the correct ohm load presented to the amp.
the amp puts out 600w rms at 2 ohms so if i got 2 2-ohm subs would that work? how could i run 2 subs on this amp?
Your amp puts out the most power at 2 ohms,so 2 dual 2ohm subs or 2 single 4 ohm subs. Here's a link: http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/woofer_wizard.asp?submitted=true&woofer_qty=2&woofer_imp=3 Use option 2 http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/woofer_wizard.asp?submitted=true&woofer_qty=2&woofer_imp=1 Use option 1
Im still a little confused on this. my amp puts out 350 w rms x 1 ch at 4 ohms and 600 w rms x 1 ch at 2 ohms. so does 2 ohms mean dual 2 ohms or single 4 ohm? could i use a 4 ohm sub and get 600 watts to it?
No,there are subs with 2 2ohm,2 4ohm,single 2 ohm and single 4ohm.Are you now wanting just 1 sub?For 1 sub you will need this to have a single 2 ohm sub or a dual 4 ohm sub. http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/woofer_wizard.asp?submitted=true&woofer_qty=1&woofer_imp=4 Option 1 or if it,s a single 2 ohm just wire it up+to+ -to-.
Im probably just going to stick with my single 12" sub. its a Kicker 08VS12L52, one thats already mounted in a box with a positive and negative terminal. the instructions say it could have 2 or 4 ohms. a website says it has dual 4-ohm voice coils http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_11759_Kicker-VS12L52-08VS12L52.html I thought it was a single 2 ohm sub, but now im not really sure. so is this a 2-ohm or 4-ohm sub? and how many voice coils does it have?
