will be buying my first wrangler in the next month or so and realized not much space in the back for a sub box. any one with any ideas or previous experience. also for around $250 what would be recommended for a sub
You can get a lot for $250. First we all have to know the following: what size sub/s are you looking for? How many sub/s do you wana put in your wrangler? What kind of amp will be powering the sub/s? Are you going for SQ or SPL? Are you going to make your enclosure? Everyone will tell you around here that it's not the sub that's really important , its the enclosure which is very true. are you planning to use the dual 2ohm or dual 4ohm type r's and what's the rms on the 12 you want? Anyhow the usual RMS on a type r is roughly 500 watts. have you looked into a jl audio stealth box.it would replace your center console.also maybe a marine amp and comps would be in order. unless its a hardtop.also.what year jeep.?you never said.
check out the kicker solo 8 or 10 in a bandpass or large ported enclosure. you can go larger because of just using one sub, and save money on the amp too.. those little square speakers will really fill up that jeep with sound.
