You can get a lot for $250. First we all have to know the following:

what size sub/s are you looking for?
How many sub/s do you wana put in your wrangler?
What kind of amp will be powering the sub/s?
Are you going for SQ or SPL?
Are you going to make your enclosure?

Everyone will tell you around here that it's not the sub that's really important , its the enclosure which is very true. I'm asking all these questions to give all the experts here on the forums enough info to answer your question...

for the mean time, i looked up some custom made enclosures that you can take a look at. here are the links:

are you planning to use the dual 2ohm or dual 4ohm type r's and what's the rms on the 12 you want? Anyhow the usual RMS on a type r is roughly 500 watts. For an amp to run that, you have a lot choices for your budget.

there are a lot more to choose from. It's getting late for me, i'm sure that once viking, dave, ranger and azn see your post they will have a lot more to offer.

check out the kicker solo 8 or 10 in a bandpass or large ported enclosure.
you can go larger because of just using one sub, and save money on the amp too.. those little square speakers will really fill up that jeep with sound.
