    Hi all,

I need some opinion from the more experienced folk around here.

    Well here goes,

I have a Fusion Reactor 900w class D monoblock amplifer (Fusion RE-AM90010) on paper the specifications are 240rms x 1 @ 4ohm and 350rms x 1 @ 2ohm, various sources (including retailers and installers) have lead me to believe Fusion has underrated these amplifiers (for what reason I do not know) and a more realistic output of 500-600rms @ 2ohm and 300rms @ 4ohm (can anyone verify this?)

Anyhow a couple of weeks ago my Image dynamics IDQ15 D4 V2 cooked itself (melted voice coil) and yesterday I was gifted a new JBL GTO-1514 15" Single voice coil 4ohm sub.

Now, the JBL is rated @ 350rms (4ohm) which obviously means i will need to run it at 4ohm off the monoblock. If the paper figures for the amp are indeed correct 240rms @ 4ohm, will this be sufficient to power my new sub with limited detrimental effects? my understanding is that running a monoblock @ 4ohm puts very little to no stress on it at all, does this mean I don't have to worry so much about clipping when adjusting the gain setting as opposed to running it at 2ohm or comparatively against a 2 channel amplifer.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

    cheers.
