I have 8 speakers (only 6 are actually hooked up) but only a 2 channel and a 4 channel amp. So I was wondering if there is anything wrong with running the 2 channel at 2 ohms or only one side of the 4 channel at 2 ohms and getting all 8 working?
dude i can so have you using either amp. tell me tho are they all the same? if not dont waste your time trying to run diff sets of subs. use matching sets.
sorry pedro i dont follow you but ill tell you what the amps and speakers are. The 2 channel amp is a Boston Acoustics GT-275 and the 4 channel is a Pioneer PRS-D4200F. The speakers are alpine components SPR-17LS. The pioneer says load impedence 4 ohms but the says 2 to 8 allowable. The Boston actually gives a 2 ohm power rating also so it looks to be okay.
so if all the speakers are the same you can use either amp. you can use the 4ch amp. just wire 2 speakers per ch for a 2 ohm load. or wire 4 speakers per ch to the 2 ch amp in a series parallel configuration. either will work.
