i know i have seen something like it at an earthquake dealer aout a year ago...although there was no cover on it....but it was in the area of 28-30" long and had a rating of 6000w rms

this is supposedly a PHD4 Destroyer....i have seen the pic before...but is it photoshopped?

I read on another forum that it's not real...
...something about an Earthquake rep saying they never released it...

I don't think it would be possible to hold it like that. I'm guessing that's pretty heavy and the hand just sitting on the front would need to me supporting a lot of weight.

i beleive if it weighed 50lbs and the weight was evenly dispursed....i could easily hold it like that

    Hmm...
All I see him holding is a heatsink... with some decorative endcaps covering up the ends of the heatsink...
    Hmm...

    ;)

That Ebay auction has "scam" written all over it...
I had heard the PHD4 was an 8000 watt amp, which makes sense, it's not even 4x the size of the PHD2 after all... and it's a 2000 RMS amp.

Does it seem logical that an amp that is 12 times more powerful, would be only 4 times larger? Even thinking only in terms of heatsink requirement.. it doesn't. ;)

And for that price, I could have WAY more than 24,000 watts of power in my car.

PHD3s are 3000 watts (but they list them at 5000), I have no listing for a PHD4... I have seen that pic before. May be a bunch or PHD3s or PHD2s strapped in a custom sink, who knows. As far as the "World Record" the guy has listed... look at it, it was achieved with 26 PHD2s, not 1 PHD4  ...

i believe the auction to be BS also....from my understanding the PHD4 is 6000w rms@2ohms

i guess the real question is this....is that photo a real amp...or was it produced on someones computer?...has anyone seen this amp....or another pic of it?

I really don't think so. His hand isn't even clasped and it doesn't really look like he's holding the 'amp' against his body. I might just be looking at it wrong.

Maybe he was dropping it and they snapped the pic right before it fell. :p

i have seen this posted on several other forums lately, and there seems to be a big issue as to whether or not that is photoshopped or real. it almost looks lke he is holding a guitar in that picture.

i cant really decide, i do remember seeing a link to what looked like a legitamite website selling such an amp... but cant recall the site.

nexxon....it's the same pic...however ...now the guy has an Earthquake emblem on his shirt

i guess i am looking for another pic of this amp....without it...i think we could pretty much sum it up as BS...

how about someone photoshop a D2 to look like that.....lets see how it matches up :detective:

That picture came from Earthquake's website.
It's a real picture... but it wasn't in the context of a product for sale.
It was just one of those "Hey, we're making this cool stuff" sort of thing.
I definitely believe it to simply be an empty length of heatsink.. you would too, if you saw the shitty grin on the guy's face that was holding it.
Possibly, that's why the picture is cropped to just the portion of him holding the amp. The whole picture is significantly larger, shows the room he is standing in also.
I remember seeing it there last year, I don't recall the specific page.
