ok i ended up getting my mojo. got a MA audio 1000 watt comp. series amp powering it. its 1000 rms at 2 ohm so i wired it up to one voice coil and then i proceded to bump. on heavy bass songs it sounds like the sub is bottoming out. im thinking theres no way a 1000 watt amp is gonna bottom out a mojo. is it clipping do you think?
no way we can really tell if you're clipping..but if it sounds like the sub is bottoming out, then turn down the volume man, also remember you are running one coil. when a sub is rated 1000rms, that means each coil is rated at 500 rms a piece.
amp can only take a 2 ohm load. ive always been told there are dual voice coils so you can wire it to different loads depending on your amp. ive heard it dont matter if you run one voicecoil or not. idk. i guess its either damage the sub or the amp huh?

yes using both coils wire either series or parallel. not just one coil. if its the D2 then a 4 ohm load is your only choice.
