Hey all. I posted in the sub area an got great info. Thanks. I have an mtx thunder 500d. I posted the power as 250 x 1 @ 4 ohms and 500 x 1 @ 2 ohms. Upon further reading the manual says these r RMS ratings. Is it safe to assume that peak would be approximate double? So @ 4 ohms it would be RMS 250 and peak 500 watts? This will help me to know as I shop around for my next set of subs.

Well, you shouldn't rely on max ratings. Not at all.Just base your sub or subs purchase on the rms ratings. You could always get subs with a higher rms rating, just incase you decide to get a bigger amp later on.The max ratings are a marketing gimmick just to make the products appear better than they are.Hope this helps.
