ok.here goes.i just bought a new sub box for my L5 10 kicker.its a duel sealed box.got it for 35 bucks at a local flea market(i know, but it gets louder than my old box).i took out my m44.was a bit too big,but i found my old hifonics vulcan amp and is just the right size to put into the other sub opening.its just an empty hole now anyways.(for now)so my question is where can i find a heavy duty disconnect for the power and speaker leads?i live in florida and its hurricane season if i had to leave i would have to remove this new box(way bigger than the old one) to make room for my dogs and other stuff..........hell i might just put the m44 on top of the box with the disconnects.so i can have my cake and eat it too.lol.

ok thanks thats what i was thinking of.but where do you think i could go to find it locally,an autoparts store?or.......i dont know.oh yeah i forgot to post this quetion too.where can i find a good bandpass passive crossover for my doors.the m44 had a lowpass out and when i put the hipass out from my head unit on. it played good midbass.(also have the lp44 vol knob to adjust the vol forthe doors)go figure.the radio was on 80hz hipass and the amp was on 175hz lowpass.but the vulcan has no xover at all.i know it sounds like a wierd set up but it worked well.i would use the m44 but with this new box i cant hide it like i did with the smaller box.

If the x-overs are shot, why? Excessive power, component failure?

I would just rebuild them, tear into them and get the values of the components, if possible.

Heck, parts express sells all the raw coils, caps, etc. If not that then they do sell prefabbed x-overs......since you are already ordering a power connector from them.....

no no the amps xover is fine .i am just going smaller.smaller amp.same rated power output. 50x2.if icant find a passive mid bass xover i guess i can live with the amp screwed to the back of the new box.it will only stick out like 2 inches more, but the smaller amp in the unused sub cut out would be what i really am wanting.

ok .just put a pic of the box in my gallery.i CAN live with the amp mounted on the back of the box like on the previous box but would prefer the passive route.unless i cant find any thing. then it would go back in like before and you guys can forget i asked anything.lol.

OK.FORGET I ASKED ANYTHING(waves hand trying the jedi mind trick)i just hooked up the amp and it played ok ,but nothing like the m44.only has the HU 80hz hi pass out to the amp. i also cant control thier vol like i can with the lp44 vol knob on the m44.so forget the whole thread.thanks and sorry for wasteing yalls time.i'll just mount the amp behind the box.

ok that new box i bought is not the same as the kicker one.iguess its not tuned like the kicker box, cause it wont play as deep as the smaller one.  and i broke the speaker plug on it.it cracked and leaked bad.so i put the old box back in.sooo...now im back to square one.:( .i guess i'll be haveing a good one built after all.

just rewired the dash speakers to the m44.they sound sooo nice. i bridged my 4ch to 2 to my 6x9s.its suppose to be like 250x2.dont know about that but they are loud as hell now.i adjusted the fader to level it out.so now i want an all old school phoenix gold amp set up.am looking on ebay for an M50 AND M25 to go with my M44.this might take a while.i can butt them together to look like 1 big amp.will look so cool.....oh yeah viking hows your old school set up going?

i also gave up on the disconnects.dont need them any more since i went back to my original set up.now i just have to sell ALL my unused stuff to fund my project.hhmmm...sounds like garage sale time.seeing that im lazy and have no time to post on ebay,or the local papers.
