OK due to space reasons I am changing my sub set up. I am going with 2 10" subs. Well I don't really want to spend a whole lot and im looking for SQ. Lets say 150 dollars max. So, lets say an easy sealed box set up. I have about 12"H x 18"D x 32"W. I have 450watts @2ohm for power so either a dual 2ohm VC set up or single 4ohm VC set up. Anyways, Crutchfield has the 2 for 1 deal going on for kicker and infinity subs so.. I could go with the Kicker CompVR or Infinity Perfect 10.1 and stay in my budget. Plus Crutchfield has that great customer service along with free shipping. Only other thing I can think is 10" Ascendant Audio Assassins but I am not sure how they rate against the subs above.
Bottom line, it all comes down to the enclosure, any of those drivers would work fine, Its what you put them into that makes the difference. Ideally you will want to put them into an enviorment that will allow them to reach near a maximim displacemnt limited power handling of what your amp puts out. That will yeild the best overall output, but you also must look at the "Q" of the box/sub combo....It all plays togrthrt to make a sub bass system that both cranks and sounds good
Well...the Infinities will demolish the Kickers in sound quality any day. My friend has a couple 10 inch Infinitie Reference series subs and after I listened to them I was shocked...I underestimated the sound quality of these 100 dollar subs from best buy. They were in a tiny sealed wedge box also. Compared to my old school 10 inch Rockford Punch subs the Infinities win I'd recommend Infinity if that is an option
Aznboi... I love you Countless times I've rolled around in my car (back in the day) and people have asked me, "what do you have?" and I say infinity kappa perfects. and they say, "psh they suck, I got two 15inch lanzar subs running 123456789 watts to them. " All i can do is hang my head. I had one reference, then two, then two kappa perfects. sooooooo damn clear. Everyone that listened to them (inside the car) were wowed. oh, and I hit 137.2 db. which I think isn't too bad considering I was running 750 watts to them.
