Help with Deck and Wiring Issues

    Hey, I just bought a new deck for my '98 Monte Carlo and I'm having some problems. I got the wiring harness for the stereo and hooked up all the wires. But when i plugged in the new deck and turned on the car, nothing happened. I noticed that when the 12v constant (Orange) and 12v switch (Yellow) wires coming from my car touch each other, the stereo powers on and works fine. I'm certain that this is not how its supposed to work. Did I blow a fuse? Did I make a mistake with the wiring? Please help me

    maybe the fuse for the radio popped. check the fuse box. this has happened to me before.

    those 2 wires may be mixed up. try switching them around
