the remote should be plugged into a wire called something like "P Cont" or power control. Should be right on Cd players wiring harness. Its usually blue. It will be a dark or light blue wire thats coming right off the cd player's wiring harness and is usually taped off from the factory.

well i was looking at the chrysler-dodge wiring diagram. You should have a 2 piece harness one black and one grey correct? If so, the 12v switched wire is going to be red with a white stripe. That would be what you want to connect the remote to. If its a one piece wire harness then the wire would be a lite purple with white stripe.

Or you could skip all this hastle and get a PAC OEM-2 to hook up instead of that RCA line converter. That way you don't have to run any wires at all to the headunit. Only wires to the rear speakers and the amp.

lol well i did something i think was better, i did get the RCA line converter and i am happy with that, however i did re wire my remote line but i thought of a better wire to connect it to, i connected it to my acc- light on my radio the wire that when i turn on my lights my radio's buttons are lit up also so now if i want my sub and amp on all i have 2 do it turn on my lights lol, it makes it easy for me lol and its rather convient lol.

LOL, common now, that is unacceptable behaviour for this site! Ghetto install comes to mind! If you can't get a digital multimeter, an analogue meter with the needle works just as good for finding which wire is what. That remote wire should be connected to your ignition accessory so when you turn back the key the stereo and amp turn on, or actually if it's the amp remote turn on wire it should be connected to the decks remote turn on wire. They are usually blue with a white stripe.

Its cool that you are playing around with the different wiring options. Once you get good theres a bunch of cool stuff you can do, but his one i just can't get behind. What happens at night if you need to turn off your amp? You then are left with no headlights. I think the next step you need to take is to wire your remote wire to the back of the radio, as it should be. Its better to learn how to do stuff the right way first and then learn how to modify and tweek stuff. Once you have the remote wired the right way why not toss in a switch? it's a cheap easy solution

soon weird stuff will start happening, turn on the wipers and the interior lights will come on or turn on the heat and the horn will blow or push the brakes and the trunk lid will pop LOL.

like it was said before.wire in a toggle switch.you can also just turn your radio down instead of shuting the amp off.
