I'm new and don't know if this is the right place to ask but i will anyway. i'm trying to install a sony xr-1890 fm/am cassette stero because my stereo was stolen and i hooked the wires to the same color wires on my harness and it didn't work. Like the red one with red, yellow with yellow and so on. Is it that the stereo doesn't work or i'm not even close to connecting the wires properly?

could be that its a bad sterio, could be that the tards who stole the last one knocked some wires lose in ur dash best thing i could say is try another head unit just link the red yellow and black wires and see if it comes on if not may be somthing in ur dash

I wanna add one more thing, if they cut the yellow and black wire at the same time then the constant fuse was blown. Always confirm power connections with a meter or test light. Makes for much simpler installs.

Well they ripped it out with no cutting of the wires since the wires were connected by tape. but i checked the fuse for the stereo and the in dash stereo fuse but the fuse in the stereo is 20 should i move it to 10 or maybe 15?

There should be two fuses for the radio, one constant and one ignition. And 10 amps is more than enough for a stereo.

But you really need to make sure you have power on both the red and yellow wire. But you still need to make sure you have power on those two wires.
