i have a real delema, today i woke up to go to work. subs a bumpin, tunes a playin. get the idea well about 10 minutes into my music the small amp which pushes my tweets goes in and out of safe mode. i was lick wtf. well i turn my sub amp off and it comes back on, back and forth. if subs are on, small amp stays off. i have 2 batteries, 1 is almost dead cant figure out a way to make my alt charge them both. but is this the problem? my sub amp will stay on wont ever shut off. i checked voltages 13.8 volts. my small amp even when subs are off, the green light (good) red light (bad) it fades in and out of green and red. the music gets very distorted and then clear. back and forth. any suggestions on my problem? is my amp going bad? if so why does the other amp make it shut off? help please
If your small amp is running off of the dead battery it would do that. Where did you measure the 13.8V at?
both amps are hooked up to the optima. its fully charged. the voltage was my escort 8500 running its vehicle voltage setting.
I would say it is directly result of the bad battery When you have ONE amp on the Load on the amp is low.. When you have BOTH amps one, the SUB amp will TAKE power from the Smaller amp, thus making it go in to Under voltag protection
update... bought this http://www.ampmanaudio.com/products/details.asp?id=754 and bought a yellow top to go in the rear. putting the red top in the front. getting them in a few days. will update again. thanks everyone
