    Dear All,

I'm a newbie here and also do not know much on car audio. Recently, I got a used car, it come with old audio system but not all components are connected. Therefore, I hope the brothers in this forum could advise me on the configuration as I do not need a good system as long as all the components are connected and can listen...I am satisfied :)

    1) HU - Pioneer DEH-P2650 (Mosfet 50w x 4, 1 RCA output)
    2) Pioneer 12 Disc CD-changer, cdx-p1280
    3) 2 pairs of DynaQuest (DQ-68C) 2-ways component speaker system ( 4 speakers & 4 tweeters)
    4) 4 ch amplifier (unknown brand) - ( 4 x ch inputs, 2x ch outputs) what is the 2 x ch outputs use for ????

Currently, only the rear two speakers and tweeters are working, the front two speakers and tweeters are not connected and many cables are bare and hide under the passenger seat.

Hope the brothers here can advise me on how to get the front speakers and tweeters connected to the amplifier, if possible may be some simple diagram to show me how to connect it back. (email: mdreamz2008@yahoo.com.sg)

    Thanks in advance

got any pics of the amp? are the rears also working off the 4 channel amp? if so then what your going to have to check is to see if the fronts are connected to the amp as well. just look at the speaker wire connections at the amp an follow them to see where they go to see if they are in fact still connected to the amp.

If they are, then what you're now going to have to check is to see if there are two sets of RCA's connected from the stereo to the amp. In order for those front speakers to work off the amp they have to have RCA's connected to them.

If the wires are all connected and there are RCA's then you may have problems with those front speakers. Just check on those things first and let us know. then we can advise you from there.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi cccullen,

I have check that all my front speakers wire have been cut off by the previous owner and the wires connected to amp are damn messy and put everything under the carpet

I managed to get hold of the amp specification with pic attached

I saw the rating on the back of my (DynaQuest DQ-68C) 2 way component speakers stated (200w) so is it actually compatible with this amp? I have check that the HU has only one RCA output so is there any way of connecting my 2 pairs of component speakers?

what is the exact model of the amp. I am just going to assume that the amp puts out 60watts per channel.

First thing you'll have to do of course is to re wire the speakers to the amp. I wonder why the previous owner cut the wires?

Your speakers rating is at 200watts rms or max. at any rate they're ok for your amp. we just have to work on getting them connected to the amp to see how they sound...

Hi cccullen, thanks for all the advises, I managed to re-do all the wiring  and now all the speakers are working :) I may have to tune up the sound abit but do not how to adjust the gain, HPF & LPF on the amp

well, since you're not using a sub. I would just turn all the filters off and just make them through. Then, make your adjustments with the headunit instead. That's just my opinion though.

To adjust the gain, just let your ears tell you the right adjustment. first, turn the gain all the way down on your amp and put your stereo volume 3/4 volume up. then slowly turn up your gain up on your amp until it's at it's loudest without distortion (still producing clean sound) then you should be all set. HPF and LPF just leave off in my opinion. If your using a sub then that's a different story. you'll have to use your HPF then.

might i suggest that unless your radio has a built in crossover to use the hi pass (hpf) on the amp to the speakers. just in case too much bass is coming through. if not and it sounds good then disregard my comment.

glad to hear you got it working.
