i have my subs and amp all wired up.when i turn my sterio my subs work for about 2 to 3 seconds and then all i get from my subs are a popping noise or kinda like a heart beat sound from them..what could be wrong?? i was told maybe it would be the grounding..so i change the spot of the ground wire more than once and same deal..if u know what possibly may be wrong please help..thank you in advance..
RCA's must be screwed up. if you have another set try to hook them up to see if it'll fix your problem. by the way, are you RCA's on the same side as your power wire? if it is, put it on the opposite side. you shouldn't run your power and RCA's together.
yeah i think they are on the same side..ill move them over to the other side as soon as i can hopefully thats the problem..
its a cheap sony..but i know thats not the problem since i used my friends alpine head unit to see if that was the problem and that wasnt..did the same thing with his alpine how would i ground the rca's?? im really no expert on the car audio so u can say im a noob lol
solder a wire to the outer shields of the rcas and then ground that wire to either the HU chassis or any metal
i think i may have found the problem.. i swapped my two 12 inch kicker cvr's with 1400 watt amp with my brothers weaker single 12 inch kicer with a smaller 360 watt amp and the popping noise goes away but the amp light turns off when the volume on the HU goes up so im guessing it could be my car battery.. installed my subs and amp in my brothers car heard them for the first time...they hit hard.. i think they might be louder then my friends older version 15 inch cvr's...
