i have a single W6 12" subwoofer in a dual sealed box. The other chamber currently houses a W3 12" sub. So its quite oddball but the W3 isn't hooked up. IF i did connect the W3, the 4ohm w3 and the 2ohm w6 would be like a 1.5ohm load?? or something. Which my amp is rated 1 ohm stable anyway (thunder elite 1501d) I'm trying to figure out if i just want to use a single box for the W6. Or get another W6 which is still like over $300 on ebay new. Or use my current config of the W3 sub with it. There's other things i'd prefer to spend the $300 + on such as a new component set or something. The extra space of just using one is always nice of course i'm confused about what to do. is it worth having an extra W6 sub? Would using the W3 along with my W6 a bad idea? i don't care if it end up blowing the W3, i had it for years, but don't want it to make the W6 worse. I also don't really like the idea of having odd subs like that, but i guess i'm the only one that knows.
Don't hook up the w3 with the w6,either get another w3 or a w6.Make sure the voice coil and the model # is the same on both subs, otherwise is won't sound good at all.I would get a w3 and upgrade something else for now. Then you could upgrade to the w6 later.
ok. maybe i'll just use the single w6 and save space. I have some old aura bass shakers i could put in the seat to help out. They worked out really well last time i did that.
