    Hello all,

    http://www.amazon.com/JVC-Double-DIN-Bluetooth-Satellite-capability/dp/B003EO8UNI

    http://www.amazon.com/Clarion-CX609...1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1281388459&sr=1-1

I've been outta the car audio game for about 20 years now. I'm not a big fan of JVC's exterior looks, but JVC's innards used to be pretty decent back in the day.

I've never owned a Clarion, but I've read lots of people like them and they have top end models.

I'm looking to replace my factory HU in my 04 Hyundai Santa Fe with the monsoon system. I'd like to stick with the double din.

Both of the above models have lots of good reviews. I'd like to have built in BT and at least one USB with Ipod control. My budget for the HU is $200-250.

I've always had good luck with Pioneer but DD size is either outta my budget or doesnt have BT. I'm done with Sony garbage.

is tempting me as well due to rave reviews , but single din with no built in BT :(

    thanks!

If you really want Bluetooth then look at units with bluetooth. Don't settle if you dont have to. You might regret it later.

But also keep in mind that you can (most HU's today) add a Bluetooth upgrade later if you need to. My Alpine, for example, does NOT have a built in Bluetooth, but the Alpine Bluetooth add on unit works flawlessly.

Thanks for the info and link guys.

I might just go with Pioneer. I've always had good luck with that brand. They seem to never die.

As for the Alpine, I would LOVE to have one, but I see their add on modules(BT, HD, SAT) are hideously expensive. Some are as much as the HU itself, so I'm gonna have to pass on Alpine.....for now lol

Honestly if I had to choose between those two I would go with the clarion even though I hate those looks of their units. Why? I have not been impressed with JVC no matter what I install from them everything feels....cheap.

I have the Kenwood KDC-X794 and I love it. It's almost the same as the 994 except there's no built-in bluetooth on the 794. IMO, it's an excellent HU and I think you'll like it, but then again, I've always owned and liked Kenwood HUs. You can find a good deal on the 994, too.

The X794 was on my first list(unposted), but I really want to give BT a shot. This old fart needs to get into the 21st century, LOL.

I finally decided which to get. :)

I went with the Pioneer FH-P8000BT. A quick google search found me a 10% coupon for J&R Music world which was selling it for $249. $80 cheaper than Amazon and Crutchfield!

    http://www.jr.com/pioneer/pe/PIO_FHP8000BT/

I'm a little bummed I couldn't take advantage of the free kits from Crutchfield and the reduced price on the line converter (PacSoem4), but even if i buy them full price from Crutchfield, its still less expensive.

The coupon code for J&R if anyone is planning on purchasing from them is GEICO10 . Minimum order of $100 and it is good til 9/30/2010.
