Whatsup, I'm pretty new to car audio and have a few questions about
what would be the best speaker enclosure for my subs. The system will be
going in a 2000 chevy silverado single cab.

    I own:
    -2 12" Kicker Comps
    Impedance 4 ohms
Sealed Box Volume (cubic feet) 1.25 - 3.5
Ported Box Volume (cubic feet) 1.75 - 2.25
    Port diameter (inches) N/A
    Port length (inches) N/A
    Free-Air Yes
    Dual Voice Coil No
    Sensitivity 89.1dB
    Frequency Response 27 - 500 Hz
    RMS Power Range (Watts) 50-150
    Peak Power Handling (Watts) 300
Top Mount Depth (inches) 5 13/16
    Bottom Mount Depth (inches) N/A
    Vas (liters) 127.65
    Fs (Hz) 26.5
    Qts 0.427
    Xmax (millimeters) 9.76

    -Kicker ZX300.1 MONO D AMP

I've currently got them hooked up to a zx300.1 amp in some junk single boxes and they barely hit.

I found these two pre-fab boxes and I was wondering if anyone could tell me which one would give me the best spl without losing to much sq. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

They both look like run of the mill prefabs to me, but if I were to choose between the two, I would chose to build my own. The first one, the port would fire into the seat. I'm not a big fan of firing a port into a seat. Second, its tuned to 30 Hz. A 30 Hz wave is around 450-inches long. Even at half wave, it will never fully develope in you standard cab truck. Tuning is way wrong for a truck

The second one is barely a better choice. Its made of 5/8-inch MDF. We need 3/4-inch for any decent box. It don't say what its tuned to, but if its tuned between 35 - 40 Hz it would be a better match to the size of the cab in your truck.

So I really don't like either box.

ranger the second one says it is 45hz. but i agree with ranger, juust build your own, it will sound a ton better and you can also take some pride in the box.

I missed that somehow, the second is the better choice, but just barely.

hmmmm i'm sure a gave you a link to probox. right now thats the only prefab i've heard people rave about.

when i bought mine i came back to the shop to get some other gear and some thought i had a pair or 12's in my hatch. even the owners brother was suprized. cause he thought i sold the box and went with something else.

    look into obcon.com
they have deals on stuff that was just in show rooms and faded carpet but are technicaly new their main is A class and the discouhnted is B class i highly suggest checking them out their GZ's boxes they hve one that is one of the loudest compitition box in the nation that you can buy. lil big but very very very loud. i have one that is louder than stereos with 2 12" 3 12" and even 4 12" speakers with my one 12" i had that was a kove. is see you have a single cab though but they have others to look at for $h!t$ and giggles
