OK let see what we can do

Lets start with a box thats 22-inches wide by 20-inches deep by 13-1/2-inches tall.

The port will be 12-inches tall by 2-inches wide with a total length of 16-inches.

    Please follow the directions HERE

The bottom and top board will measure 22-inches by 19-1/4-inches
The back board will measure 12-inches by 22-inches
The two sides will be 12-inches by 18-1/2-inches
The port board will be 12-inches by 16-inches long (this will make the port slightly longer but thats OK)
(also your port will NOT have a right turn like in the example)

Once everything is put together, then we cut out the Baffle board and it will measure 22-inches wide by 13-1/2-inches tall.

but now what if the box has to be 18 inches tall that will affect the cubic footage which will throw the design for the vent off! my sub has an odd OD for a 12", its 15 3/8" Wide so the box has to be at least that tall

Yes it would make a huge difference

Please post your speaker specifications or a link to the correct specs because here are the Kicker CV-R 12 that I used and it states the outside diameter is 12-1/2-inches. So I'm gonna assume I am using the wrong specs.

As soon as I have the correct specifications I can do a redesign

Here are the specs that I used from Kickers website
