need your help. The people i bought the amps from are telling me that they had already shipped the amps. In a nutshell i'm kinda screwed now. I do see an alternative though for the sub. Instead of getting one 15" L5 the seller i bought the sub from also is selling 2 10" L5's 4ohms DVC. Should i just go ahead and go with 2 10" L5's instead?

I really don't have much of a choice now but what kind of difference are we talking about as far as box specs. how many cu. ft.? Also, RMS wattage of 2 L5's 10" is about 900 watts... 880 watts is enough to power these things. right?

Well two 10's have significantly less cone area than a single 15.

If you were going to use the 15 you could always use one coil...power handling would be reduced 20%

Damn, i was thinking that too. I just got an email from the people i bought the amp from hopefully they will cancel it. I showed them 5 emails i sent them telling them not to ship the amps til the 26th. If they don't cancel the order then I may not have a choice then to go with the 2 10's.

Would that be a good idea to only use one coil for the 15"?

I've done it...works fine. Just don't put to much power to em.

To 10s in a nice box should get pretty loud though

Globazar just emailed me and it seemed like the are willing to cancel my order (i hope) if that does happen then I'm just going with HiFonics and put 900watts @ 2ohms to that L5 15". That should make it pound!

Whew!!! Globazar canceled my order of the soundstream amps. So now I'm going to just buy Hifonics i guess unless you all have any better suggestions.. So i can still use the 15" L5. Problem solved!!!

Someone is offering me a PPI 5440 5 channel amp for 100 bucks shipped. I was thinking of using it for my wife's CRV to power her stock speakers along with the xplode sub. Do you think its a good buy?

    Specs:
    4 x 30W + 1 x 120W @ 4 ohms
    4 x 60W + 1 x 200W @ 2 ohms
    3 x 120W @ 4 ohms bridge

The guy who was the highest bidder backed out and they are offering it to me.
