Hello guys, I need an amp.... Equipment (3) Kicker 10CVR102 Ported Enclosure Budget - The lower the better. I just want something that will not run too hot and use up a lot of current and does the rated specs. I'd like to stay under $250. I've had Hifonics amps for the longest and they all seem to do well, they just run VERY HOT. the subs are rated for roughly 400w RMS each, so I think an amp around 1000-1500 watts would be just fine. It just needs to be 1 ohm stable. These subs are temporarily in a Buick Rendevous and they sound GREAT. I'm surprised at how good 600w's sounds with them. However, this box is going in a charger next summer, so I want to get the amp for it now. I'll just replace this box with a single sub setup in the Buick when that times comes. thanks ahead of time.
I would look into power acoustik. They might not do rated power, but this amp would be perfect for you. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_17528_Power+Acoustik+OVN1-4000D.html I have an older model with the same specs pushing 3 10's that are 400wrms each and it pounds.
how is that sub box wired? i don't see it being @ 1 ohm. maybe 1.3 or 2.66. audiopipe has a 1500 watt amp that does rated and in less than 200. anyamp that is run into a low ohm load can run hot. if heat is an issue add a fan or two.
